LinkedIn is training its AI on your data — how to stop it
LinkedIn recently announced »quietly« that they will be using your data to train their AI. If you live in the European Union, that’s not a problem because by law they need to give you explicit opt-out privileges.
But not so in the USA. You’ll be automatically opted-in unless you take the specific steps on your own to opt yourself out. Here’s how…
While in LinkedIn, click on your name or image on the right side of the header; then choose “Data Privacy” in the left column.
In the section on the right called, “How LinkedIn Uses Your Data”, select “Data for Generative AI Improvement”.
Slide the control to “Off”
Now go back to working in LinkedIn. You’re done.
iOS 18 is here — if you don’t like it, you don’t have to keep it
iOS18 for your iPhone is the operating system that promises Apple Intelligence — the company’s flavor of AI. But iOS18 has been released with that feature; and if you’re expecting to get it for an iPhone 14 or earlier, you’ll be disappointed.
Yet, last week, Apple started allowing users of iPhone 11 and above to install the new OS. It has some great enhancements — our favorite is listed below; but it still might be underwhelming for you.
What if I don't like the latest iPhone upgrade to iOS18? Can I go back to iOS17? ...(more)...
Yes; you can. It will take you a bit more time — about the same amount of time as the original upgrade to iOS18 — and you'll have to follow the instructions carefully.
We highly suggest that you…
1. Back up before you downgrade
2. Make sure after you downgrade that you upgrade to the latest version of iOS17 to get the security updates to keep you safe.
BTW — if you haven’t yet upgraded, but want to get the production we just mentioned, you can upgrade to the latest iOS17 instead. Open your iPhone Settings; go to General; then Software Update. Here you’ll find whichever upgrades that you can apply to your phone. Either the latest 17 or moving up to 18. If your phone won’t support either of them, you won’t see them here.

The iPhone feature you always wished for
The most impactful new feature of your upgraded iPhone is one you didn't expect…
The latest upgrade of iOS for your iPhone (iOS 18) is full of features, both related to AI (coming in an update) and other types of features.
But there's one that stands out above the rest — it turns your notes application into a dictation device.
Imaging being able to click a button and dictate your note so it's ready for you later — without having to add a new app.
Simply open Notes; then click the microphone icon in the bottom right corner. Start talking and your words will start showing up on your screen.
We've been experimenting with this new feature and it has been perfect in the dictation (although we anticipate more mistakes as we go).
Applications are endless —
jot a to-do list while you're traveling
quote a book you're listening to while at the gym
turn it on during a short face-to-face meeting to capture what went on during the meeting.
Remember, it's not smart enough to know who is talking; but it will get the words.
Want to know how to make it really easy to start dictating when your phone is locked? Stay tuned for tomorrow's tip. And we'll have additional easy tips in upcoming days as well.

Time Management in the Age of AI — the secrets you need

Last week, I conducted my “Time Management in the Age of A.I.” workshop for two more Fortune 100 class companies — a financial institution and a manufacturer; and the comments were astounding, including…
"Such a great session!”
“I can't wait to start.”
"Amazing session. Totally loved it.”
"This session is essential in life.”
“You hit the nail on the head”
“The time flew by — so much info. When I noticed the time, the session was almost over”
It’s amazing how far your team can go when they learn to combine popular traditional time management frameworks with the latest techniques including using A.I. judiciously.
Interested in having this impactful workshop at your organization? Confirm a time to explore it via web-meeting or phone.

Confirmed helps you reclaim that time by offering you a better way to set up your meetings on the road — using A.I., of course.
