Tips for upgrading your phone

iOS26 is upon us. That’s Apple’s new iPhone operating system which has a brand new “liquid glass” interface, and upgrades such as better, larger buttons for their alarms, and a phone app that lets you screen your calls. (That’s not a new idea; Google has been doing it for more than a decade; but it’s new to iPhone.)

If you have one of the newish, iPhones (but not iPhone 17 which comes with iOS26), you might even have iOS 26 waiting in your software update. (You’ll find that in your Settings App, by clicking General; then Software Update.)

But you might not be confident, because it’s such a big new upgrade and you want to avoid trouble. Have no fear, our friends at ZDNet have put together a list of things to do before your upgrade to make it less risky and easier.

Future-Proofing Yourself in an AI-Driven World

As artificial intelligence transforms the way we work, the most successful professionals will be those who embrace technology while mastering the people skills machines can’t replicate.

In this 2-full-day workshop, created by Dale Carnegie and Matt Britton, you’ll gain both the AI-era competencies needed to stay relevant and the interpersonal skills that build trust, influence, and resilience in a fast-changing world.

Quiet Cracking – probably not new; but still important to address

You may have seen the term, “quiet cracking” recently – meaning people who are struggling with their jobs; but not telling anybody.

Just because there’s a new term for it, it doesn’t mean it’s a new issue. It’s been around since before I entered the job market decades ago. I can think of people of almost every age who were effected by dissatisfaction, burnout and other maladies that would be lumped into the term.

In times of duress – both personal and global – quiet cracking happens more often. And today represents a lot of global stress, including job losses and realignment due to the economy, tariffs, political divisions, and AI incorporation into almost any field. So it’s bound to happen more today than in many times.

For employees who are also subject to other stressors – a bad boss perhaps – or a partner break up – the effects could be more serious.

This is where great leadership comes in. How you as leader handle an employee or contractor who is quietly cracking has a great deal of impact on the result.

Will they stay in their job? Will their motivation and job satisfaction get back to normal levels? Will the company be affected too?

Those types of questions can all be handled by a leader who uses best leadership practices with their staffs. It doesn’t always fix the issue entirely; but it usually mitigates the most impactful issues if the leader is well trained in techniques.

Remember: the two people who have the most impact on any worker are (1) their direct supervisor, and (2) the person leading the organization.

If you’re interested in learning how you can become the type of people-leader that you want to be and that your organization really needs, …
